5 Weird Things About Myself??

Thanks so much, Amber, for this. :P She tagged me and so I must reveal a bit more about myself. YUCK!!

Weirdo Fact #1: I really and truly am addicted to chocolate. If I don't have some in my house, I am perfectly willing to make a run to the store or local gas station to get some. Even in the rain, even in the wee hours of the night. Yep. Not such a healthy fact is it?

Weirdo Fact #2: Sometimes when I'm really afraid of something, I pass out. I've passed out on flights, at Driver's Ed at 16, in the temple (when I went to get married). Oh, I have a long an interesting list of them. Thankfully it seems that it has subsided since I've learned to deal with my anxiety better.

Weirdo Fact #3: I have a hard time being touched. Sometimes I am totally fine with it, and then other times it's like having a spider crawl up my arm. Especially if it's someone I don't know and they grab my arm or hold onto me. YIKES!! I really don't like this about myself. I try so hard to relax. Sigh!

Weirdo Fact #4: I will read a book a million times, but I don't enjoy watching a movie more than once. Haven't figured that one out yet.

Weirdo Fact #5: Hmmm. Hard to think of these. Or maybe it's hard to think of things I'm actually willing to share with people. LOL! Ok, next fact . . . I didn't get my driver's license until I was about 21. I was TERRIFIED of driving. Now I love it, and I'm usually the one that drives us places, especially long drives since I don't get tired. I love the feeling of the open road.

Ok, that wasn't so bad. Although, DON'T ask me to do it again!!!!!

Li'l Davis Memory Trends
Sneak Peek!

It has been so fun to be playing with Li'l Davis goodies again. They are innovative in design, and beautiful in style and color.

My first assignment for the tradeshow was use the Crillon Collection. This is such a gorgeous collection. With papers, chipboard letters, gorgeous ribbon, chipboard rounders and chipboard sliders, there is an endless supply of fun things to use and try. This really is a beautiful collection and a definite "must have" to add to your sophisticated collection. (I really do find this line gorgeous! LOL!)

Fun Techniques:
* Add a chipboard heart to the title to emphasize how much you love home.
* Add buttons to the chipboard flower centers for added dimension.

My second assignment was to use the Patterned Tape. (Make sure you're wearing sunglasses because I went a little BRIGHT!)

I really haven't grasped the concept or the fun of the pattern tape until lately. You're gonna LOVE it. Seriously! This tape ROCKS! It's tacky, but if you carefully place it first, you can pull it up and fix it. Then when you are ready you can gently rub it in place. Wonderful!!

I wanted to lead your eye from the photos to the tile, so I created a grid of several different patterns of the pattern tape. So much fun to try!

Hint: Cut the top tape's corner diagonally to match the seams.

Ten Things to Do With Pattern Tape:
1. Use as a border.
2. Frame a photo.
3. Wrap around a circular shape.
4. Use instead of ribbon and cut the tape's edge to look like cut ribbon,
5. Use Staz-on ink and stamp journaling onto strips of the tape.
6. Create an arrow by using a long strip and two smaller strips to create the arrow tip.
7. Create your own pattern paper by running several different types of ribbon in a vertical or horizontal line on your layout.
8. Create fun shapes like stars using the tape.
9. Use the tape to create the title (sketch title in pencil first).
10. Wrap tape around a paper project or altered item. It's much easier to adhere than regular pattern paper or ribbon.

There are lots of fun things to see at the Li'l Davis booth so make sure to stop by. Keep an eye on the Li'l Davis blog as well as they are adding lots of new fun things!

Surviving Memory Trend assignments:

Seriously, how do people work in the creative industry and push themselves all of the time. I can hardly believe how exhausting it is to create and create and create. Who would have thought that it would exhaust me physically? Interesting . . .

But I did it, I finished up my assignments for Karen Foster. Wait 'til you see their wonderful new releases. I'm loving the Little Boy papers, and I always love the funky embellishments they think up. So fun to play with.

Deja Views didn't have a new release, but I tackled a rather prickly project. Of course, I was the idiot that volunteered for it so I really can't complain. But I chose to do a WREATH. "A what" you ask. Seriously, I volunteered to create a wreath from paper. It seemed so much more possible than it really turned out to be. YIKES! I was in tears one night because I hated the direction it was taking. Either too tired or too emotionally involved in my projects. LOL!

Li'l Davis gave me one of the first assignments for their blog. Haven't gotten to play with their goodies in such a long time. Was a little nervous at first because I really want to do a good job. And then with some divine inspiration, it came to me. I got to play with the Crillon Collection, and it's so pretty.

I feel very blessed to work with such great companies!!

In addition, I have been doing some stuff for the CK QVC shows. I get to play with the goodies that they sell, and that's been so much fun to do stuff with products I might not get to purchase. Very cool!! Feel a lot of pressure (from myself) to do a great job for those awesome viewers.

Contemplating entering HOF. We'll see. I think even if I don't enter, I will challenge myself to create the assignments. I really thrive on assignments (comes from loving school so much). Yeah, I know I'm sick! ;)

The layout is just a fun one I created to apply for the Creativexpress Design Team. I didn't make it, but I'm thrilled for the six talented ladies that did. And I thoroughly enjoyed creating new items to post. Must do that more often. ;)
